About
The State Insurance Company (SIC), is said to be the country’s largest public, general insurance company currently in operation. It was originally incorporated as State Insurance Corporation in 1962 but underwent a process of metamorphosis until it was finally incorporated on 28th August, 1995 as a limited liability company. There are over 10,000 shareholders with the state alone owning about 40% of the shares, making it the largest shareholder of the company.
